When did the Atlantic become such a conservative mouthpiece?

What, did Hunter shag the publisher’s granddaughter, or something? 😀

That magazine has been crucifying Biden of late.  I mean, it’s an easy target, but that’s an overtly left-leaning source, historically.

And, since I like to participate in exploring my own questions, I’ll share some not-original, but wholly reasonable thoughts from an acquaintance of mine who has some smarts (retired aerospace engineer, Porsche enthusiast, etc.) and shared this link with his circle of friends:

https://www.cnn.com/2021/08/03/politics/vice-president-kamala-harris-singapore-vietnam/index.html

“(CNN) Vice President Kamala Harris is set to travel to Singapore and Vietnam later this month, becoming the highest-ranking Biden administration official to visit Asia so far.

“Her trip will build on the Biden-Harris Administration’s message to the world: America is back,” her office said in a statement. “

Make note of:

1) Visit to exotic place to distract Great Unwashed from border crisis, explosion in urban crime, and rocketing inflation.
2) Change stock photo to her wearing a pink top, i.e. warmer, friendlier colors
3) Reference to “Biden-Harris” administration.

Look for extensive trip coverage in the MSM, moving away from the disaster in Kabul.

The transition: ’tis coming.

May as well dig the hole deeper: check out the headline and article:

MSM gins up the king maker machine again.

Where does this land?

What are the odds that Biden is still POTUS on 1/1/22?

(Absent some new severe health problem or a public mental breakdown or some other event that renders him untenable.)

My hunch is The Machine will “Weekend At Bernie’s” him for as long as they possibly can.

At this point, all I can do is mine “the bullshit” for markers one way or the other. I cannot even fathom making a prediction as to who will be POTUS 15 months from now.

I predict that Biden will limp to the finish line and then support Kamala if she really wants the job.  Someone from the left, Bernie or Warren, will trounce her in any debates for the democratic nomination.  The DNC will have some difficult conversations with Kamala and do everything it can to get her to bow out and let Warren have the nomination.  I can’t stand E. Warren, but she did whip Scott Brown, 54 to 46, which I did not see coming.  So don’t misunderestimate her.

Personally, I like Tulsi Gabbard, and it has nothing to do with the massive personal crush I may or may not have on her.  I don’t know why she can’t seem to catch on. She has everything.

As for the Atlantic, yes, I’ve noticed the same thing about that shift away from the left.  They aren’t completely crazy anymore.
