Now It All Makes Sense

Found this article in today’s readings and it finally squared a circle for me. I’ve been personally involved in the CO2 wars for decades, even working on the “problem” in the DOT briefly in 2009-2010. I know inherently that CO2 in the atmosphere only exists in the space between the 79% of Nitrogen and the 21% of Oxygen so the whole concept of CO2 fueled “global warming” (or whatever the currently vogue term is) is bullshit and working for the government, I had to read the 5 or 6 comment submissions (of the literally millions of cut and paste activist email screeds) submitted by real scientists (actual physicists) every time we propose a rule change. Unfortunately for this poor slob, the average 35 page submission from a real scientist was unfathomable. And being politically incorrect, not really enough to stick my neck out. But this is brief and to the point and finally answers the whole thing in a sound bite that’s useful. Thought y’all might be interested.

There is a commonality (more of a mirror image, actually) to the Vanden Bossche covid stuff here: The reliable way to get things wrong is to assume that the universe is static, and doesn’t respond to your actions.

Or, perhaps, that you understand the full scope of the universe’s response to your actions and can predict them accurately.

In the case of atmospheric CO2, the goal is to demonstrate a doomsday scenario, so the response of natural systems to increased CO2 concentrations is ignored.

In the case of covid, the goal is to demonstrate that we have control over the virus, so the response of natural systems to mitigation measures is ignored.

“There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio,
Than are dreamt of in your philosophy.”

Very interesting thoughts. I also read something about the 17th amendment unleashing the progressive assault on our system of governance that’s really the genesis of all we’re seeing today.

Unintended consequences. And stuff.
