I’m fascinated by how the people who promulgate this stuff don’t seem to have any awareness of (or concern for, I suppose) how abjectly Orwellian they sound.
Given the importance of communication and the ITS core value of inclusivity, the Words Matter Task Force was formed and charged with identifying terms used within ITS that are, or can be construed to be, racist, sexist, or non-inclusive.
I’m particularly baffled at how the word “picnic” has any connotation that can be thought of as “non-inclusive”.
