I’m 60 and will probably never be able to retire due to bankruptcy at 50. Still, I’m harboring a retirement dream of becoming an electrician. Trying to get my current employer to bite on sending me to the community college to get a journeyman’s license. It’s a long shot, but it accompanies some interesting proposals for PLC improvements, etc.
The end goal is ultimately not to really make a career of anything, but to be able to drive around in my pickup and do “at cost” or less repairs for less fortunate folks or maybe spend weekend volunteering with Habitat for Humanity or other charitable organizations.
Just have to find some kind of somebody to pay for it AND get me the work time credit for the license. Hmmmmm……..
